Returning to Esperanza

Returning to Esperanza is simple in theory.
All you need to do is take the underground elevator located on the map and ride it down.

But why is something so simple actually difficult?

Because there are many factors that disrupt a Raider’s peaceful return.
Today, we’ll take a look at the threats that interfere with returning to Esperanza and the key precautions you must take when using the elevator.

 

Factors That Prevent a Smooth Return

There are several obstacles that can interrupt your attempt to return safely.
Let’s take a closer look at what makes the process more dangerous than it seems.

Step 1: Call the Elevator

The underground elevator at the escape point must be called before it appears.
If you arrive and the door is firmly closed, it hasn’t been called yet.
Because the surface is swarming with Arks, the elevator only comes down when a Raider calls it — presumably to hide underground temporarily for safety.
If you just stand there waiting, you risk being targeted by other Raiders or Arks because there is little cover around the elevator.

 

 

Step 2: Wait Safely While It Arrives

After calling the elevator, avoid standing out — stay behind cover and check the surroundings while waiting for it to arrive and open.
The elevator makes a loud noise when summoned, alerting nearby enemies. Once you hear the sound, stay hidden until the elevator arrives.

Step 3: Board Quickly — Trust No One

Once the door opens, rush in without hesitation. Even players from your own squad can betray you: calling the elevator is like shouting “I’m ready to escape with loot” to all other Raiders nearby.
Delaying or doubting — even for a moment — increases your risk.

Step 4: Close the Door Immediately

The elevator in Ark Raiders is designed to automatically descend again if nobody interacts after the door opens. There is a “door-close button” inside the elevator. Press it as soon as you board.
This allows you to seal the door quickly and avoid being exposed during the descent.
⚠️ But be careful — pressing the button takes a moment (interaction time), which leaves you momentarily vulnerable.

Step 5: Once the Door Seals — You’re Safe

Once the door is closed and the elevator descends, you’re safe.
You’ll return to Esperanza for rest and re-equipping.

 

 

Then you’re free to go back out and continue looting or exploring.
