A personally paid visit to an okonomiyaki restaurant during my trip to Osaka.

<위치>

오사카역, 오사카우메다역 에서 도보로 5~10분정도 걸린다.
It takes about 5 to 10 minutes on foot from Osaka Station or Umeda Station.

<후기>

지도 찍고 갔는데 안보여서 약간 당황할 수 있는데, 당황하지 말고 2층을 보면 된다.
이 가게는 2층에 있다.
I followed the map but couldn’t see it at first; don’t worry, just look up to the second floor.
This restaurant is located on the second floor.

약간 정신없이 뭔가 왕창 써있는것 같은 가게가 맞다.
건물 앞에 이런 간판이 있었으니 이거 보고 찾아도 될 것 같다.
It’s the place with a somewhat chaotic and heavily written sign.
There was a sign like this in front of the building, so you can look for it.

여기도 2층이라고 친절하게 써있긴하다.
계단을 통해서 올라 가면된다.
It kindly indicates that it’s on the second floor here as well.
You can go up via the stairs.

 
가게 입구에 가면, 대기인 명부를 작성하는게 있다.
여기에 이름이랑 인원수 쓰고 기다리면 사장님이 안내해준다.
At the entrance, there’s a waiting list to fill out. Write your name and the number of people, and the owner will guide you.

이렇게 문에 걸려있는 종이에 이름을 써두고 기다리면 초 하이텐션 사장님이 안내해준다.
Write your name on the paper hanging on the door, and the super high-energy owner will assist you.

입구부터 정신 나갈것 같은 비쥬얼..
내부 인테리어도 뭔가 정신 없지만 나름 현지 바이브에 재밌게 되어있다.
The entrance has a somewhat overwhelming visual…
The interior is also a bit chaotic but has a fun local vibe.

 
 
사장님 혼자서 운영하는 가게라서 그런지 대부분 셀프 서비스로 운영된다.
음식 시키기, 음식 받기, 음료 가져오기, 음식 그릇 반납하기
Since the owner runs the place alone, most services are self-service.
Ordering food, receiving food, getting drinks, returning dishes.

 
여기 음식 주문 시스템이 조금 특이한데..
일단 음식은 처음 입구 키오스크에서 주문하고, 식권을 사장님한테 주면 음식 나왔다고 알려준다.
그럼 챙겨서 내 테이블로 가져와서 먹으면 된다.
술이랑 음료가 진짜 이상했다. 
이건 인스타가면 영어로 설명하는게 있었다. (인스타 링크는 가게 입구에 있었음)
첨보는 시스템이라 당황하긴 했지만, 간단히 요약하면 음료랑 맥주는 알아서 가져가서 먹고 나중에 나갈때 정산하면 된다.
음료는 2잔에 1탁구공, 알콜류 1잔에 1탁구공 이었다.
1공에 270엔 이었나? 그랬던 것 같다.
음료 셀프로 가져가면서 닭을 누르면 사장님이 알았다고 소리치는데, 몬가.. 신기한 기분이었다.

The food ordering system here is a bit unique…First, order food at the kiosk at the entrance, and when you give the meal ticket to the owner, they’ll notify you when it’s ready. Then, you pick it up and bring it to your table to eat. The alcohol and drinks were really unusual. There was an explanation in English on Instagram (the link was at the entrance).

It was my first time seeing such a system, so I was a bit confused, but to summarize: you help yourself to drinks and beer, and settle the bill when you leave. For drinks, it’s 1 ping-pong ball per 2 cups; for alcohol, 1 ball per cup. I think it was 270 yen per ball. When you get drinks yourself and press the chicken button, the owner shouts “Got it!”—it’s quite an interesting experience.

 
음식은 꽤나 맛있었다.
여기서만 판다는 국물 타코야끼도 먹어봤는데
오묘하게 맛있다.
오뎅탕 국물에 빠진 타코야끼 맛이다.

The food was quite delicious. I also tried the soup takoyaki, which is said to be exclusive here. It had a subtly delightful taste. t tasted like takoyaki soaked in oden broth.

오코노미야끼는 뭔가 굉장히 부들부들한 텍스쳐다.
단단한 전이라기 보다는 뭐랄까.. 오믈렛스러운 질감이라고 생각해야하나
암튼 그런 식감인데 꽤 맛있었다.
The okonomiyaki had a very soft texture. Rather than a firm pancake, it had an omelet-like consistency. Anyway, that texture was quite tasty.

 
그리고 야끼소바..
맛은 평범했는데 양이 많았다.
어딜가나 야끼소바는 막 특별히 우와ㅏㅏㅏ하는 경우는 적고 맛은 대체로 비슷한 기분이다.

And the yakisoba…The taste was average, but the portion was large. Yakisoba rarely stands out as exceptional anywhere; it generally tastes similar across places.

양 많고, 가성비도 나름 괜찮았다.
그치만 몇가지 불편한점이 있었다면
자리와 위생이었다.
The portions were generous, and the cost-performance was quite good.
However, there were a few inconveniences. Namely, the seating and hygiene.

 
음식이야 깨끗이 조리하겠지만, 뭔가 저 그릇의 밑바닥이 약간 끈적거려서 조금 찝찝했다.
그래서 그런지 음식을 항상 포일을 깔고 그 위에 서빙이 되는 구조다.
아무래도 혼자 운영하는 식당이다보니 설거지할 시간도 없어서 그런가 싶긴한데, 본인이 이런 위생에 철저한 사람이라면 조금 불편할 수 있을 것 같다.
The food seemed to be cooked cleanly, but the bottom of the dishes felt slightly sticky, which was a bit unpleasant. Perhaps that’s why they always serve the food on top of foil. Since the owner runs the restaurant alone, it might be hard to keep up with dishwashing. If you’re someone who’s particular about hygiene, you might find this a bit uncomfortable.

 
그리고 자리..
우리는 '바' 좌석에 앉았는데 의자가 거의 외발 자전거 타는 느낌이었다.
제대로 고정이 안되는 것처럼 좌우로 흔들려서 의자에 앉을때 꽤나 불편했다.
다만 바 좌석 말고 일반 좌석은 튼튼해 보여서 이건 뭐.. 그냥 복불복이라 생각해야 할 것 같다.
And the seating…We sat at the “bar” seats, and the stools felt like riding a unicycle. The stools wobbled side to side as if they weren’t properly secured, making it quite uncomfortable to sit. However, the regular tables looked sturdy, so I guess it’s just a matter of luck depending on where you sit.
